The Catholic Sabha Unit of Valencia joyfully celebrated its 26th Annual Day on June 7th, 2025, at the Golden Jubilee Hall.

The celebration began with a solemn thanksgiving Mass, presided over by  Fr Roque DSa, Parish Priest, along with Fr Pradeep Rodrigues, Assistant Parish Priest, and Fr William Barracos as co-celebrants.

The cultural program commenced with a devotional prayer song, setting a reverent tone for the evening. Lizzy Pinto, President of the unit, welcomed the gathering, followed by the presentation of the annual report by Nancy DSouza, who highlighted the various achievements and initiatives undertaken during the year.

Nolan Clyde Lobo, consultant and chartered accountant at Ernst & Young LLP, Bangalore, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He was joined on the dais by several dignitaries, including Fr Roque DSa, Spiritual Director of the unit, Fr Pradeep Rodrigues, Anil Lobo Chairman MCC Bank LTD, Ronald Rodrigues Parish Council Vice President and Ida Furtado, Episcopal City Varado President of Catholic Sabha.

Nolan Clyde Lobo in his address, he underscored the transformative power of education and its impact on both individual lives and the broader society.

Fr Roque DSa addressing the gathering, applauded Catholic Sabha’s commitment to selfless service within the Church and the wider community.

A special felicitation segment honored seven outstanding members of the unit, including four academic rank holders and three pursuing their MD degrees.

Clive Fernandes, newly elected Vice President of the Mangalore City South Youth Congress, was also recognized for his leadership. Noel Menezes Vice President of the unit, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event.

The cultural segment of the program featured a vibrant mix of entertainment, including:

• Jokes and spot games by Dolphy Saldanha

• A melodious group song by Nancy and team

• A lively dance performance by Sandra and team

• A humorous skit performed by Mellu, Richa, and Cletus

The evening concluded with a fellowship meal, fostering unity and celebration among all present. The event was compered gracefully by Valerie Lobo.
