A Heartfelt Celebration: Sacred Heart Ward Marks Feast Day in Style

The Sacred Heart Ward joyfully celebrated its annual Ward Feast on Saturday, June 21, 2025. The celebration began with a thanksgiving Mass at 5:00 PM, celebrated by Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr Pradeep Rodrigues.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, a vibrant get-together was held at Ferrer Hall. The event was blessed by the presence of Parish Priest Rev. Fr Roque DSa, Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr Pradeep Rodrigues, Parish Council Vice-President Ronald Rodrigues, and Parish Council Secretary Rita Menezes.

The program began with a soulful prayer dance performed by the children of the ward. Ward Gurkar Nancy Rodrigues extended a warm welcome to all gathered, followed by the ward report presented by Secretary Deena Fernandes.

The evening saw several recognitions and moments of joy:

  • Dr Lishal Anisha Misquith was honored for successfully completing her MD.

  • Olaga, Claire, and Delson were felicitated for their notable achievements.

  • New families Elvis & Amitha Ferros and Nelson & Janet Fernandes were welcomed into the ward.

  • Natasha was warmly welcomed to the community as she recently married Chris, a member of the ward.

  • Winners of the recent Bible Quiz competition held during a ward meeting — 1st Veronica Barboza, 2nd Sr Prescilla, and 3rd Krishal DSa were awarded prizes.

The cultural segment was filled with joy and talent:

  • Dances were performed by children and the youth.

  • Spot games, led by  Belinda Rodrigues, kept everyone engaged.

  • An entertaining skit was presented by Roshan, Louis, Desmond, and Lanya.

  • A lively group medley added musical charm to the evening.

  • The popular Housie Housie game was organized by Mr. Louis.

Veronica Barboza proposed the vote of thanks, appreciating all who contributed to the success of the event. The program was skillfully compered by Belinda Rodrigues. The evening concluded with a delightful dinner shared in the spirit of unity and fellowship.
