The YCS (Young Christian Students) Valencia Unit successfully hosted its much-anticipated Sports Day, “Ignite,” on Saturday, 27th September 2025, at the Valencia Church Grounds.
The day began with a solemn prayer service led by Fr Pradeep Rodrigues, Assistant Director of YCS Valencia, invoking God’s blessings for a safe and joyful event.
The formal inauguration was graced by Fr Roque DSa, Director of YCS Valencia, along with Fr Pradeep Rodrigues, Ronald Rodrigues (Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council) and YCS animator Dr Deepa Rebello and Asst animator Valerie Lobo. Also present were the YCS office bearers and members of the unit.
Avril DSouza, President of the YCS Valencia Unit, welcomed the gathering warmly, setting the tone for a spirited day ahead. The vote of thanks was delivered by Jake Fernandes.
Fr Roque DSa commended the YCS members for their dedication and meticulous planning, encouraging them to continue their good work in building a vibrant youth community.
A host of games were conducted for various age groups, turning the church grounds into a hub of cheer, energy, and friendly competition. The joyous atmosphere was capped off with the distribution of ice creams, leaving smiles on every face and creating lasting memories.
