Feast of St Cecilia, the patron saint of music and musicians, was joyfully celebrated at St Vincent Ferrer Church, Valencia on November 22. The celebration began with a solemn Eucharistic Mass celebrated by Fr Pradeep Rodrigues, who offered prayers for all choir members and musicians of the parish.
Following the Mass the parish choir held a cultural and fellowship gathering at the Ferrer Hall. The event began with a warm welcome address by Roseveera Rodrigues.
Speaking during the occasion, Fr Pradeep Rodrigues commended the choir members for their dedicated service in enhancing the liturgical celebrations. He also expressed gratitude to the parish’s two choir masters, Simon Rodrigues and Vijay for their tireless efforts in guiding the choirs.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of the recent hymn singing competition, recognizing their talent and enthusiasm. The gathering was further enlivened with engaging spot games conducted by Renita Tellis, bringing joy and interaction among the participants.
A vibrant cultural program followed, featuring performances by all three parish choirs the Children’s Choir, Adult Choir and the English Choir each offering musical pieces in honor of St Cecilia.
Program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Simon Rodrigues. Louis Rodrigues ably served as the emcee, guiding the program smoothly from start to finish.
The celebration came to a close with a fellowship dinner, strengthening the spirit of unity and gratitude among the parish community.
