Valencia Church witnessed a profound expression of faith and unity as Confraternity Sunday (Compricho Aithar) was celebrated with great fervor on Sunday, 18 January 2026, as part of the preparations for the annual parish feast. A large number of parishioners gathered to take part in the solemn observances.
The Eucharistic Celebration commenced at 4.00 p.m. and was presided over by Fr Alwyn Richard DSouza, Director of Family Life Centre, Diocese of Mangalore and Guardian of St Zuze Vaz Home, who served as the main celebrant. He was joined by Fr Roque DSa Parish Priest and Fr Pradeep Rodrigues Assistant Parish Priest as co-celebrants.
Following the Holy Mass, a grand Eucharistic procession was held. The Holy Eucharist, reverently placed in a golden monstrance, was carried in procession through the church. The brass band added to the solemnity of the occasion by rendering devotional hymns, creating a prayerful and uplifting atmosphere.
The procession concluded at the church, where the faithful assembled for Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, once again led by Fr Alwyn. The celebration of Confraternity Sunday stood as a moving testimony to the deep rooted faith, devotion and unity of the Valencia parish.
