The faithful of Valencia gathered in deep devotion to celebrate Palm Sunday, which marks the beginning of Holy Week in the Christian calendar.
The celebration began early in the morning at 6:30 a.m. with the blessing of palms front of the old chapel. This ritual commemorates the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, where people welcomed Him by waving palm branches. After the blessing, the congregation solemnly processed from the chapel to the main church, carrying the blessed palms and singing hymns, creating a reflective and prayerful atmosphere.
The procession was followed by a solemn Eucharistic celebration (Holy Mass). The parish priest, Fr Roque DSa, served as the main celebrant, assisted by Fr Pradeep Rodrigues, concelebrated the Mass along with him.
The entire service was marked by deep reverence, active participation and a spirit of unity among the faithful. It set a reflective tone for the beginning of Holy Week, a sacred time when Christians remember the Passion, suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
