Within just three months of taking charge as the Parish Priest of Valencia, Fr Cyprian Pinto demonstrated a clear vision and a strong desire to develop our parish and build a more vibrant and united parish community. The Parish Priest organised a gathering for all the religious and gurkars of the parish on 26 August 2026 at the Golden Jubilee Hall.
He recognised that our parish is blessed with a rich pool of talented and experienced religious priests and sisters. Many of them possess valuable knowledge, skills and experience, particularly in communication, counselling, spiritual guidance and community building. Fr Cyprian saw this as a great resource and envisioned bringing these talents together for the growth and pastoral development of our parish. With this vision, he took the initiative to develop a roadmap that would make better use of the knowledge, experience and talents of our religious community. As a first step towards materialising this vision, he organised an interactive session bringing together the Ward Gurkars and the religious priests and sisters of our parish.
For this meaningful session, Rev. Dr Joseph Martis (Parish Priest Derebail) as the resource person. Fr Joseph shared valuable insights on the important themes of Synodality Communion, Participation and Mission. His enlightening presentation helped the participants understand the importance of walking together as a Church, listening to one another, participating actively in parish life and working together for the mission of the Church.
This initiative of Fr Cyprian is a significant step towards making our parish more participatory, collaborative and mission oriented. By bringing together the experience and talents of our religious community with the commitment and leadership of our Ward Gurkars, he has laid a strong foundation for building a vibrant, united and spiritually enriched parish community.
Parish Priest Fr Cyprian Pinto welcomed the gathering, while Vice President Ronald Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks. A few games were conducted by Fr Alwyn Crasta SCJ Assistant Parish Priest, along with Sunil. The event concluded with a delicious dinner prepared by Sweety Caterers, Permannur.
