The nine-day Monthi Fest Novena began on August 30 with the celebration of the 8:00 am Holy Mass. The Holy Mass was celebrated by the Parochial Administrator Fr Edwin Correa.
Following the Mass, the Novena prayers were led by Fr Edwin, as the parish community gathered in prayer and devotion in preparation for the Nativity of Mother Mary.
As part of the cherished Monthi Fest tradition, children brought colourful flowers in beautifully decorated baskets and lovingly offered them to Mother Mary. Their participation added joy and vibrancy to the celebration while keeping alive this treasured tradition of the feast.
Following the Novena prayers, chicken puffs were distributed to all, adding to the warmth and fellowship of the gathering.
The first day of the Novena marked a beautiful beginning to the nine-day celebration of faith, devotion and community, as the parish came together to honour the Blessed Virgin Mary and prepare spiritually for her Nativity.
