Members of Ferrer Ward visited White Doves Psychiatric Nursing and Destitute Home on 17 October 2026, with the intention of extending love, care and support to the residents of the institution.
The visit began with an orientation session by the organisation, which provided valuable insights into its mission, functioning, and dedicated service to individuals in need of psychiatric care and support. Through an informative presentation using videos and an LCD projector, the members learned about the various ways in which the organisation reaches out to destitute individuals. Some are brought in from the streets, while others are referred by the police and other institutions or brought to the organisation through information shared by known persons and well-wishers.
The members were particularly touched to learn about the organisation’s efforts to trace the families of these individuals. Whenever their families are identified, efforts are made to reunite them with their loved ones. These initiatives reflect the organisation’s commitment to restoring dignity, rebuilding relationships, and bringing hope into the lives of vulnerable people.
Following the orientation, the ward members spent time with the residents, sharing refreshments and organising entertainment activities to bring cheer and happiness to the gathering. The moments of interaction and companionship created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making the visit meaningful for both the residents and the visitors.
As a gesture of support, financial assistance was also extended through the generous contributions collected from the ward members. The contribution reflected their spirit of generosity and commitment to community service.
