The Annual Lenten Charismatic Retreat commenced at 4:00 PM on 24th February 2026 in an atmosphere deeply imbued with prayer, reverence and spiritual anticipation. The faithful gathered in large numbers, united by a heartfelt longing to journey more meaningfully through the sacred season of Lent a season of reflection, repentance and renewal.
The retreat is being graciously led by Fr Alban DSouza, Parish Priest and Rector of St Lawrence Minor Basilica. With Spirit-filled conviction and pastoral warmth, he centered his reflections on the themes of forgiveness and jealousy inviting the faithful to free their hearts from bitterness, embrace reconciliation and rejoice in the blessings bestowed upon others. His inspiring guidance called each participant to deepen their personal relationship with God and to open their hearts to the transforming grace of the Holy Spirit.
The inaugural session set a powerful and grace-filled tone for the days ahead. Through vibrant praise and worship, the proclamation of the Word of God and profound moments of silent Eucharistic adoration, the congregation experienced a deep sense of spiritual enrichment and inner renewal. Many were visibly moved, surrendering burdens at the feet of the Lord and rediscovering peace in His presence.
As the retreat continues, hearts remain lifted in prayer that this blessed time of grace may bring healing to the wounded, strength to the weary and abundant spiritual blessings to all who participate.
