The ICYM and YCS Valencia Units collaboratively organized Friendship Day celebrations on 3rd August 2025 at Valencia Church. The day began with a Thanksgiving Mass at 10:00 AM, celebrated by Fr Kenneth Crasta.
Following the mass, a short celebration was held at the Conference Hall. The speaker for the session was Fr Kenneth Crasta, Assistant Director of St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor. The event was presided over by Fr Roque DSa, Parish Priest, with Fr Pradeep Rodrigues as the Guest of Honour. Also present were Ronald Rodrigues, Vice-President of the Parish Pastoral Council and Animator of ICYM Valencia; Rita Menezes, Secretary of the Parish Council; Deepa Rebello, Animator of YCS Valencia.
Keith, President of ICYM Valencia, welcomed the gathering. Avril, President of YCS Valencia, delivered the Vote of Thanks. Gordon, Advisor of ICYM Valencia, introduced the speaker of the day. The program was compered by Ria Menezes, Secretary of ICYM Valencia. Fun games and activities were conducted by Pearl Rosario, PRO of ICYM Valencia.
Fr Kenneth delivered an inspiring talk on the theme “Friendship Rooted in Christ”, using numerous biblical examples to explain the true meaning of friendship, how to cultivate it, and the different kinds of friendships that can exist in a Christian life.
Muriel Mascarenhas, Bendur Social Cause Secretary and Floyd Pinto Neerude joint secretary, of ICYM Central Council also graced the occassion.
The celebration concluded with a fellowship lunch, marking a joyful and meaningful Friendship Day for all the youth of Valencia Parish.
