In a beautiful expression of love, compassion and service, 22 members of Holy Spirit Ward visited Veronica Vihar, Maryhill. An institution for the differently abled run by Carmel Seva Trust, on Sunday, 8 February 2026.
The group reached the institution at around 4:00 p.m. and was received with a warm and affectionate welcome by the sisters. The visitors were introduced to the inmates, instantly creating an atmosphere filled with smiles, warmth and heartfelt connections.
The visit began with a short prayer led by Ronald DSouza, Gurkar, invoking God’s blessings on everyone present. This was followed by a series of fun-filled games conducted by Renita Dias Ward Representative, which brought laughter and excitement among the inmates.
Adding to the joy of the evening, the children of the ward entertained the inmates with lively performances. The moment became even more special as the inmates joined in, singing and dancing with radiant smiles.
On behalf of the institute, Sr Maria Jyothi expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the group for visiting and spending quality time with the inmates. She thanked the ward members for their generous sponsorship of essential items, which included rice, groceries, coconuts and other necessities. She also briefed the group about the institution and its inmates.
Refreshments were distributed to the inmates and the sponsored items were formally handed over to the Sister In-Charge. The programme concluded with a short prayer by Leena DMello, entrusting everyone to God’s loving care.
The group returned with hearts full, deeply moved by the joy and affection shown by the inmates and with immense admiration for the selfless and dedicated service rendered by the sisters of Veronica Vihar.
