Members of St Lawrence Ward celebrated their ward feast on February 7. A Thanksgiving Mass was held at 5:00 pm, followed by a festive gathering at 6:30 pm at the Canara Club.
The program began with a prayer song. Gurkar Molly Pinto welcomed the gathering. Ward representative Renny Baptist presented a brief report on the activities carried out in the ward. The Parish Priest honoured and congratulated those who had achieved success in education, as well as the students who secured excellent marks in the PUC examination last year.
Rolfred Pinto, who rendered six years of selfless service as Gurkar, was felicitated with gratitude and appreciation.
The Parish Priest congratulated the large number of parishioners present and delivered an inspiring message. Lorina Pinto proposed the vote of thanks.
Among those present for the celebrations were Parish Priest Fr Roque DSa, Assistant Parish Priest Fr Pradeep Rodrigues, Vice President of the Parish Council Ronald Rodrigues, Secretary Leeda Aquinas, 21 Commission Coordinator Julian DSouza and members of the ward.
Following the stage program, cultural events and games were conducted. The entire program was efficiently compered by Gladys DSouza. The celebration concluded with dinner and dance.
