Lumino Day-2 : Focuses on Children and Youth

ICYM Valencia Unit continued its spiritual journey of Lumino 2025 with a profoundly moving 2nd day of the Advent retreat held on December 3, 2025. Beginning at 4:30 p.m., the community once again gathered in prayer, anticipation and deep devotion as the retreat entered its most touching moments.

Day 2 was graced by the presence of Br. Prakash DSouza and his team from Mumbai, whose heartfelt sessions stirred the minds and souls of every participant. Joining them were Fr Sunil DSilva, Parish Priest of St Antony’s Church, Sastan and Fr Prithesh Crasta OCD from Madanthyar, whose spiritual guidance added a profound depth to the evening’s reflections. Their combined presence created an atmosphere filled with serenity, compassion, and an unmistakable sense of God’s closeness.

What made this year’s retreat truly special was the remarkable leadership of the youth of the parish, who once again came together with dedication and love to organize and coordinate the event. Their enthusiasm and selfless efforts became a beautiful reminder of how faith continues to bloom in the hearts of the young.

A special focus on children and youth marked the second day, with sessions designed to touch their tender hearts and strengthen their bond with God during this holy season. One of the most touching moments of the evening was the heartfelt reflection delivered by Fr Sunil, especially directed toward married couples and the youth. His words of wisdom resonated deeply, encouraging families to embrace unity, forgiveness and renewed love as they journey toward Christmas.

As Lumino 2025 continues, it stands as a beacon of hope gently guiding the faithful toward the joy of Christ’s birth. The retreat not only prepares hearts for Christmas but also strengthens the bond of the Valencia parish community, uniting them in prayer, love and shared faith.
