Nithyadar A Ward Celebrates Annual Feast with Devotion and Joy

Nithyadar A Ward came together in a spirit of faith and fellowship to celebrate its annual ward feast on Saturday, June 28th, 2025. The festivities commenced with a solemn Holy Eucharist at 5:00 PM, celebrated by parish priest, Fr Roque DSa, with active participation from ward members in the liturgy.

Following the Mass, parishioners gathered to capture cherished moments with Fr Roque and Assistant Parish Priest Fr. Pradeep Rodrigues.

The celebration continued at Ferrer Hall with a vibrant cultural programme. The evening opened with a heartfelt prayer song dedicated to Mother Mary, the patroness of our ward.

Gurkar,  Zeena Machado, warmly welcomed the guests of honour  Fr Roque DSa, Fr Pradeep Rodrigues, Ronald Rodrigues (Vice President, Parish Pastoral Council), and Rita Menezes (Secretary, Parish Pastoral Council)  by presenting them with potted plants as tokens of appreciation.

Lilly Rodrigues, a committee member, presented the annual report, highlighting the various spiritual and community-based initiatives undertaken by the ward during the past year.

A special moment of the evening was the felicitation of students for their academic excellence. Joanne Angelica Furtado (BBA) and Welena Lewis (SSLC) were honoured for achieving distinction in their respective fields.

New families who recently joined the ward were welcomed with bouquets, symbolising warmth and unity.

Fr Roque took the opportunity to commend the efforts of Gurkar Zeena Machado and acknowledged her dedicated service to the ward. Ronald Rodrigues expressed gratitude to the Gurkar and the committee for organising a meaningful celebration and thanked all ward members for their support and active participation.

Veeda DSouza proposed the vote of thanks, extending heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the feast.

The highlight of the evening was a cultural programme filled with devotion and enthusiasm. A touching skit was performed, depicting the origins of the devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, setting a deeply spiritual tone for the evening. The programme also featured energetic dances by children, youth, and seniors, all choreographed under the guidance of Sandesh, who brought a professional flair to the performances. Sr Geraldine conducted engaging games that added joy to the occasion. The evening was seamlessly anchored by emcee Verina.

The celebration concluded with a delicious dinner catered by JoJo Caterers, bringing the day to a joyful close filled with faith and heartfelt gratitude.
