Sacred Heart Ward Members Visit Mother Teresa Home

On 8 March, members of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ward visited the Mother Teresa Home for the Destitute, Falnir Mangalore. Spending a memorable and heartfelt time with the residents and staff.

Under the able leadership of Gurkar Nancy Rodrigues and with the support of Louis Rodrigues and Krishilla DSa, the ward representatives organised the visit and extended their support by providing essential items requested by the home. These included groceries, biscuits, Good Life milk and diapers. In addition, juice and snacks were distributed to everyone present.

A total of 21 ward members participated in this outreach program. The home currently accommodates around 50 inmates and 20 staff members, including the sisters. Most of the inmates gathered in a hall specially prepared for the visit, while a few bedridden residents were unable to join.

The evening was filled with joy and interaction as the ward members conducted a few simple games, which the inmates thoroughly enjoyed. Small prizes were distributed to the participants, adding to the excitement. The inmates also sang songs for the visitors and the ward members reciprocated with a few songs of their own, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

The visit proved to be a deeply enriching experience for everyone involved, especially for the children, who had the opportunity to learn the value of compassion, sharing and community service.
