A day of gratitude and togetherness: St Antony B Ward Celebrate their ward Feast

The members of St Antony B Ward came together with great enthusiasm and spiritual fervor to celebrate their annual Ward Feast on Sunday, June 15, 2025. The day began with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass at 6:30 AM, celebrated by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Roque DSa.

In the evening, a grand ward get-together was held at Ferrer Hall at 7:00 PM, which witnessed vibrant participation from the ward members. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Fr Roque DSa (Parish Priest), Fr Pradeep Rodrigues (Assistant Parish Priest), and Ronald Rodrigues (Vice President, Parish Pastoral Council).

The evening began with a warm welcome by the Ward gurkar, Cecilia Monteiro, who has been a pillar of leadership to the ward. The ward secretary presented a detailed Ward Report, highlighting the various activities over the past year. Gordon DAlmeida, the ward representative, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to making the celebration a success.

Addressing the gathering, Fr Roque DSa commended the dedicated efforts of the ward leadership team, especially gurkar Cecilia Monteiro, and ward representatives Gordon DAlmeida and Charlotte Noronha, for their relentless hard work and coordination. He lauded their teamwork and acknowledged the positive impact they have had on both the ward and the parish. Fr Roque also took the opportunity to appreciate several prominent individuals from the ward who have made notable contributions to the Church. He congratulated Dr Deepa, who recently took charge as the Animator of the YCS Valencia Unit, and Louis Pinto, a veteran parishioner known for his long-standing service in the Parish Council since his youth. He also highlighted how the current Vice President of the Parish Council had once served as one of the youngest Gurkars from St Antony Ward, demonstrating the legacy of leadership that continues to thrive in the ward.

Following the formal program, the audience was treated to a cultural program filled with entertainment, music, and games, conducted by Dr Deepa. The evening was lively, with enthusiastic participation from children, youth, and elders alike. The program was seamlessly compered by Aania Crasta, who kept the audience engaged throughout the evening.

The celebrations concluded with a delicious community dinner, where ward members bonded over cuisine and joyful fellowship, making it a truly memorable occasion for all.
