Holy Spirit Ward Celebrates Feast with Devotion and Joy

The Holy Spirit Ward joyfully celebrated its Annual Ward Feast on Sunday, June 8, 2025. The festivities began with a solemn Holy Eucharist at 4:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr Pradeep Rodrigues, Assistant Parish Priest. Ward members actively participated in conducting the liturgy.

Following the Mass, ward members gathered at Ferrer Hall for the cultural celebration. The program commenced with a devotional prayer song performed by the ward children.

Fr Roque DSa Parish Priest, Fr Pradeep Rodrigues Assistant Parish Priest, Ronald Rodrigues Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council and Rita Menezes Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council were warmly welcomed by Ward Gurkar Ronald DSouza. Shanthi Rebello Ward Secretary, presented the annual report highlighting the ward’s activities and services over the past year.

The celebration also recognized academic excellence. Michelle DSouza and Prinson Pinto were felicitated for their outstanding SSLC and PUC results, respectively. Janish Rebello was honoured for securing the 7th rank in the Final B.Sc Nursing examinations conducted by RGUHS, Karnataka. The felicitation ceremony was led by Leena DMello.

New families were also welcomed into the ward by the Gurkar.

Addressing the gathering, Fr Roque DSa commended the enthusiastic participation of children in both the Mass and the celebration. He expressed appreciation for the dedicated service of the Gurkar, Ronald DSouza, and thanked the ward’s core committee for their efforts in organizing the feast. He also conveyed his gratitude to all ward members for their continued support and involvement in community activities.

Mariette DSilva proposed the vote of thanks.

The stage program was followed by a vibrant cultural evening featuring dance performances, singing, and fun games, with active participation from both children and adults. The cultural segment was coordinated by Ashlyn Cutinha, while Renita Dias conducted the games. Nancy DSouza served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

The celebration concluded with a fellowship dinner, bringing the joyous event to a close.
