Sacred Heart Ward joyfully celebrated their Annual Feast on Saturday, 4th July 2026 with great faith, fellowship and gratitude.
The celebrations began with a solemn Eucharistic Mass at 5:00 pm, celebrated by Parish Priest Fr Cyprian Pinto. Following the Holy Mass, the ward members gathered in the church for a family photograph with the Parish Priest, marking the beginning of the festive celebrations.
The gathering then moved to Ferrer Hall for an evening of fellowship and cultural celebrations. The program commenced with a graceful prayer dance by Olga, setting a prayerful tone for the event. Belinda Rodrigues ably compered the program, while Nancy Rodrigues warmly welcomed the dignitaries, including Fr Cyprian Pinto Parish Priest, Fr Alwyn Crasta Asst Parish Priest, Julian DSouza Co-Ordinator 21 Commissions and Leena Fernandes.
Leena Fernandes, the ward Secretary presented the annual report, highlighting the ward’s spiritual, social and service-oriented activities over the past year.
A special felicitation ceremony recognized the achievements of several ward members. Rea Saldanha was honoured for securing the 2nd rank at the college level and the 4th rank at the state level in the Second-Year PUC examinations. Theo Pinto was felicitated for scoring an impressive 90% in his Second-Year PUC examinations. Olga was recognised for her remarkable achievements during the year, while Veronica was applauded for securing the highest score in the ward’s annual Bible Quiz. The ward also extended a warm welcome to its newest members, Jerry DLima and Leena DLima, who recently joined the ward family.
Addressing the gathering, Fr Cyprian Pinto congratulated the ward on its vibrant activities and encouraged everyone to continue working together in faith and service. The formal program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Louis.
The cultural program that followed brought together members of all age groups in a joyful celebration. The audience was entertained with vibrant dance performances by the children and young ladies of the ward, a humorous skit by Louis and Roshan, engaging spot games conducted by Belinda Rodrigues, a lively musical medley by the ward members, and an exciting game of Housie hosted by Louis and Roshan.
A special moment of the evening was the felicitation of Stany and Carmine as they celebrated the golden jubilee of their marriage, completing 50 years of blessed married life. Prizes were given away by Fr Cyprian Pinto, Fr Alwyn Crasta and Julian DSouza.
The celebrations continued with an enjoyable musical evening presented by The Music House, followed by a fellowship meal that brought everyone together in the spirit of unity and fraternity.
